Encouraging healthy Emotional development and Friendship skills
Recent research has discovered that children who are encouraged to label and talk about emotions help and share with other children more often. Studies have also found that the better children understand emotions, the more they are liked by peers.
Our Feelings and Friends Programme has been developed by our Educational Psychology Specialist in conjunction with our Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists.
We use interactive games, songs and puppets to support the development of sharing, making friends and being kind to others. Using our popular 'Teddy Time' we provide children with the language to express their emotions and develop strategies to help them cope with difficult feelings, reducing frustration and behaviour difficulties.
